Dolma Biber, or Stuffed Bell Peppers, is a classic Turkish dish that is both flavorful and satisfying. This recipe combines a delicious mixture of rice, ground meat, and aromatic spices, all stuffed inside vibrant bell peppers and cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup rice
- 250g ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups vegetable or beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a large bowl, combine the rice, ground meat, onion, tomatoes, parsley, olive oil, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and meat mixture.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a deep pot and pour the broth over them.
- Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for 30-40 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the dolma biber hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
