Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the melted butter and milk. Mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cornbread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
