Ingredients

  • 4 fresh fish fillets
  • 3 tablespoons chili bean paste
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, julienned
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and place them on a heatproof plate for steaming.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the chili bean paste, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, garlic, ginger, green onions, vegetable oil, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water to create the sauce.
  3. Spread the sauce evenly over the fish fillets.
  4. Steam the fish over high heat for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  5. Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the steamer and garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
