Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs pork ribs, cut into individual pieces
- 3 tbsp fermented black beans
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Soak the fermented black beans in water for 15 minutes, then drain.
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat and add the garlic, ginger, and green onions. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the pork ribs to the pot and brown them on all sides.
- Stir in the fermented black beans, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, salt, and white pepper.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the pork ribs are tender.
- Once the pork ribs are tender, uncover the pot and allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Serve the Dou Chi Pai Gu hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
