Ingredients
- 500g pork ribs
- 2 tablespoons fermented black beans
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 red chili, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the pork ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Soak the fermented black beans in water for 5 minutes, then drain and roughly chop them.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped black beans, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, cornstarch, and white pepper.
- Add the pork ribs to the bowl and coat them evenly with the black bean mixture. Marinate for 15 minutes.
- Place the marinated pork ribs in a heatproof dish and sprinkle with the chopped green onion. Drizzle with cooking oil and sesame oil. Add the sliced red chili if using.
- Steam the pork ribs over high heat for 45 minutes, or until tender.
- Serve the Dou Chi Pai Gu hot with steamed rice.
