Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 6 pieces dried tofu skin
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak the dried tofu skin in warm water for 30 minutes, then cut into smaller pieces.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot and sauté ginger, garlic, and green onions until fragrant.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned.
- Pour in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and five-spice powder. Stir to combine.
- Add the soaked tofu skin and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the braised beef with tofu skin hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
