Dovga (creamy Yogurt Dip)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the egg and yogurt together until smooth.
  3. Slowly pour the yogurt mixture into the pot with the cooked rice, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the chopped dill and salt to the pot, and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let the dovga cool slightly before serving.
