두부조림 (Dubu Jorim) is a popular Korean side dish made with braised tofu in a savory and slightly sweet sauce. It's a delicious and healthy dish that can be enjoyed as a side or a main course.
Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rectangles
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Press the tofu slices between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, sesame seeds, and green onions to make the sauce.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu slices and cook until golden brown on both sides.
- Pour the sauce over the tofu and add water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu.
- Serve the Dubu Jorim hot or at room temperature.
