Ingredients
- 4 duck legs
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Season the duck legs with salt and pepper, then sear them in a hot pan until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until softened.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, alternating with the sautéed onions and garlic.
- Place the seared duck legs on top of the potato mixture.
- Pour the broth and heavy cream over the duck and potatoes. Dot the top with butter.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1.5 hours. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the top is golden and the duck is tender.
- Serve the Duck Gratin hot, spooning the creamy sauce over the duck and potatoes.
