Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage, cored
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil the cabbage in a large pot of water for 5 minutes, then carefully remove the leaves and set aside to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, cooked rice, onion, caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto each cabbage leaf, then roll them up, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Place the sauerkraut in the bottom of a large pot or Dutch oven, then arrange the cabbage rolls on top.
- Pour the beef broth over the rolls, cover the pot, and simmer on the stovetop for 1 hour.
- Serve the rolls with a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
