This Egg and Beef Patty Burger, also known as Lahori Anda Shami Burger, is a popular street food in Pakistan. It features a flavorful beef patty mixed with lentils and spices, topped with a fried egg, and served in a soft burger bun.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup split Bengal gram lentils (chana dal), soaked
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 4 eggs
- 4 burger buns
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, soaked lentils, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the patties until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side.
- In a separate pan, fry the eggs until the yolks are set.
- Toast the burger buns in the same pan or on a griddle until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on the bottom half of each bun, topping with a fried egg, and covering with the top half of the bun.
- Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
