Empanadas Chinas (Chinese-Style Dumplings)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 20 round dumpling wrappers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold in half and press to seal.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
  5. Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook until the bottoms are golden brown.
  6. Add water to the skillet, cover, and steam the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes, until the filling is cooked through.
  7. Serve the dumplings hot with soy sauce for dipping.
