Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 empanada discs (store-bought or homemade)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic, and cook until the vegetables are soft.
- Stir in the cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each empanada disc. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the empanadas in batches until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the empanadas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy!
