Emperor's Golden Dumplings (帝王金饺子)
帝王金饺子 (Emperor's Golden Dumplings) is a classic dish from Chinese Imperial Cuisine, known for its exquisite flavors and luxurious presentation. These golden dumplings are filled with a savory mixture and wrapped in a delicate, golden-hued dough, making them a perfect addition to any special occasion or banquet.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 24 round dumpling wrappers
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and white pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press to seal, creating a half-moon shape.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer, making sure they are not touching. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Pour 1/2 cup of water into the skillet and cover immediately. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the dumplings are tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Remove the cover and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the bottoms of the dumplings are crispy.
- Transfer the dumplings to a serving platter and serve hot with dipping sauce.
