帝王秘制豆腐 (Emperor's Secret Tofu) is a classic dish from Chinese Imperial Cuisine, known for its delicate flavors and exquisite presentation.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Set aside.
- In another bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the chicken broth.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat, then add the garlic and green onions. Cook until fragrant.
- Add the tofu cubes to the pan and cook until lightly browned.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the tofu and stir gently to coat.
- Pour in the chicken broth mixture and simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
