Emu Empanadas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced emu meat
  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 package of pre-made empanada dough

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced emu meat, onion, and garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent.
  2. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Roll out the empanada dough and cut it into circles. Spoon the cooled meat mixture onto the center of each circle.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Use a fork to crimp the edges closed.
  6. Place the empanadas on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
