Eral Ghee Roast, also known as Mangalorean Prawn Ghee Roast, is a popular dish from the Karnataka Cuisine. It is a spicy and flavorful prawn dish that is cooked in ghee and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Next, add the turmeric powder, tamarind paste, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the prawns and cook until they are done, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
