Eral Nei Roast, also known as Mangalorean Prawn Ghee Roast, is a popular dish from the Dakshina Karnataka Cuisine. This spicy and flavorful prawn roast is cooked in ghee and a blend of aromatic spices, making it a perfect dish for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook the masala until the ghee separates.
- Add the cleaned prawns and cook on medium heat until they are coated well with the masala and cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
