Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpea flour
  • 4 cups water

  • 1 teaspoon berbere spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the chickpea flour with water to form a smooth paste.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the berbere spice mix and ground cumin to the pot, and stir for a minute to release the flavors.
  4. Pour the chickpea paste into the pot, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the stew simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
