Exotic Oromo with Lamb (Оромо с бараниной)

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb meat, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and water to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the lamb meat to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
  6. Place a spoonful of the lamb mixture in the center of each dough circle, then fold the edges to form a semi-circle. Press the edges to seal the filling inside.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the oromo for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the skillet and serve hot.
