Falooda (creamy Cardamom And Pistachio Milkshake)
Falooda is a popular Afghan dessert that is a creamy, sweet, and refreshing milkshake flavored with cardamom and pistachio. It's a perfect treat for hot summer days or as a delightful ending to a meal.
Ingredients
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 cup falooda sev (vermicelli noodles)
- 1/4 cup basil seeds (sabja seeds)
- 1/4 cup rose syrup
- 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and ground cardamom over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Cook the falooda sev according to the package instructions, then rinse with cold water and drain.
- Soak the basil seeds in water for 15 minutes until they swell up.
- Assemble the falooda by dividing the cooked falooda sev and soaked basil seeds among 4 glasses.
- Pour the cooled cardamom milk over the noodles and basil seeds in each glass.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of rose syrup into each glass.
- Top each glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
- Insert a long spoon and serve immediately, allowing everyone to mix the ingredients together before enjoying the falooda.
