Fan Tiao (xinjiang Style Rice Noodles)
Fan Tiao, also known as Xinjiang Style Rice Noodles, is a popular dish in Uyghur cuisine. It is a flavorful and aromatic noodle dish that is commonly enjoyed in the Xinjiang region of China.
Ingredients
- 400g rice noodles
- 200g lamb, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the rice noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced lamb and cook until browned.
- Add the onions, garlic, cumin, and chili powder to the pan. Cook until the onions are soft and fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes to the pan and cook for a few minutes until they start to break down.
- Stir in the cooked rice noodles and toss to combine with the lamb and tomato mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
