Fattoush is a traditional Jordanian salad known for its refreshing flavors and crunchy texture. In this recipe, we will add a new twist to the classic Fattoush salad by incorporating a special ingredient that will elevate its taste and make it even more delightful.
Ingredients
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 cucumber, chopped
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1 cup radishes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 cup toasted pita bread, broken into small pieces
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon sumac (special ingredient for the twist)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, bell pepper, parsley, mint, radishes, and pomegranate seeds.
- Add the toasted pita bread pieces to the bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and sumac.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
- Let the salad sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
