Fen Zheng Rou, also known as Steamed Pork with Rice Flour, is a traditional dish from Guangxi Cuisine. This dish features tender pork mixed with rice flour and steamed to perfection, creating a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500g pork belly, minced
- 200g rice flour
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the minced pork with soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, white pepper, green onions, and ginger. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the rice flour, cornstarch, and water to form a smooth batter.
- Add the rice flour batter to the marinated pork and mix well to combine.
- Transfer the pork mixture to a heatproof dish and smooth the surface.
- Steam the pork over high heat for 1 hour, or until the pork is cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve the Fen Zheng Rou hot with steamed rice or vegetables.
