Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup fresh fenugreek leaves (methi), finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ajwain, oil, and salt.
- Knead the mixture into a smooth dough, adding water as needed.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and roll each ball into a flatbread (thepla) using a rolling pin.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and cook each thepla until golden brown spots appear on both sides, brushing with oil as needed.
- Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.
- Serve the Methi Thepla hot with yogurt, pickle, or chutney.
