Ingredients

  • 1 cup fenugreek leaves (methi), washed and chopped
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, pureed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Add the turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add the chopped fenugreek leaves and green peas. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
