Firecracker Chicken (鞭炮鸡)

Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour half of the sauce over the chicken. Toss to coat and let marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken and stir to coat. Add the slurry and continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions over the chicken before serving.
