Ingredients
- 1 lb white fish fillets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the fish fillets with salt and pepper, then coat them in flour.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Fry the fish fillets until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the bell pepper, onion, and garlic until they begin to soften.
- Pour in the white vinegar and add the oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Place the fried fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the vinegar mixture over them. Let the fish marinate in the escabeche sauce for at least 1 hour before serving.
