Fish Molho

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish fillets with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish fillets until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Sauté the onions, ginger, and garlic until golden brown.
  4. Add the tomatoes, green chilies, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Pour in the vinegar and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Add the fried fish fillets to the sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve the Fish Molho hot with rice or bread.
