Fisherman's Soup (Рыбный суп)
Рыбный суп (Fisherman's Soup) is a traditional dish from Belarusian cuisine that is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for warming up on a cold day.
Ingredients
- 1 kg fish fillets, such as carp or pike
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 6 cups fish or vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, sauté the onions, carrots, and bell pepper until softened.
- Add the potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, bay leaf, paprika, black pepper, and dill. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a boil.
- Add the fish fillets and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
