五行炒面 (Five Elements Stir-Fried Noodles) is a traditional Taoist dish that incorporates the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water, representing balance and harmony in Taoist philosophy.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) noodles
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup snow peas
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Boil the noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add mushrooms, bell peppers, carrots, and snow peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
