五行炒菜 (Five Elements Stir-Fried Vegetables) is a traditional Taoist dish that incorporates the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water, representing balance and harmony in Taoist philosophy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup snow peas
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add mushrooms and snow peas, and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
