Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 300g fresh egg noodles
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2-inch ginger, sliced
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the star anise, cinnamon stick, ginger, garlic, and onion. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned.
- Stir in the five-spice powder, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and dark soy sauce. Mix well.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the beef is tender.
- Cook the fresh egg noodles according to the package instructions.
- Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls and ladle the beef and broth over the noodles.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
