Five-spice Roast Duck
Five-Spice Roast Duck is a classic Cantonese dish that features a succulent duck infused with the aromatic flavors of five-spice powder. This dish is perfect for a special occasion or a festive gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 whole duck, about 5 pounds
- 2 tablespoons five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the five-spice powder, salt, black pepper, garlic, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make a marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the duck, inside and out.
- Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the roasted duck before serving.
