Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck, about 5 pounds
  • 2 tablespoons five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the five-spice powder, salt, black pepper, garlic, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make a marinade.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the duck, inside and out.
  4. Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the roasted duck before serving.
