Five-spice Tofu Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion, cut into chunks
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, five-spice powder, sesame oil, and honey or agave nectar.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let them sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Thread the marinated tofu, bell peppers, and onion onto skewers.
  5. Heat a stovetop grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  6. Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the tofu is lightly charred and the vegetables are tender.
