Flan De Almendra Y Azahar (almond And Orange Blossom Flan)

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, caramelize the sugar over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Pour the caramel into a 9-inch round baking dish, tilting the dish to coat the bottom evenly.
  2. In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, ground almonds, and orange blossom water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated baking dish.
  4. Place the baking dish in a larger roasting pan and fill the roasting pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the baking dish.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 1 hour, or until the flan is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the flan from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until completely chilled.
  7. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the dish and invert the flan onto a serving plate. The caramel will form a sauce around the flan.
