Flan De Coco (coconut Flan)
Flan de Coco, or Coconut Flan, is a delicious and creamy dessert that is popular in Muisca Cuisine.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, cook the sugar over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown.
- Pour the caramelized sugar into a flan mold, tilting the mold to evenly coat the bottom.
- In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the flan mold over the caramelized sugar.
- Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish and fill the baking dish with hot water to reach halfway up the sides of the flan mold.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the flan is set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, place a serving plate on top, and carefully invert the flan onto the plate.
