Flan Fantasy (Fantasía de Flan)

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until it turns into a golden caramel, then pour it into a flan mold, swirling to coat the bottom.
  3. In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into the flan mold over the caramel.
  5. Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish and fill the larger dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, or until the center is set. Let it cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan, place a serving dish on top, and invert to release the flan with the caramel sauce on top.
