Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup fried onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup cashew nut paste
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, fried onions, mint leaves, coriander leaves, cashew nut paste, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it marinate for 2 hours.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat ghee and add the marinated chicken.
  4. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid and let the chicken cook on low heat for 45 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix milk and saffron. Pour this mixture over the cooked chicken.
  6. Cover and cook for another 15 minutes until the chicken is tender and the flavors are well infused.
  7. Serve hot with naan or steamed rice.
