Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 dried red chilies
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and cook the rice. Spread it on a plate to cool.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, peanuts, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until the peanuts turn golden brown.
  3. Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix well with the tamarind mixture.
  5. Once the rice is well coated, remove from heat and serve.
