Flavorful Puliogare (ಪುಲಿಯೋಗರೆ)
Puliogare, also known as tamarind rice, is a popular South Indian dish that is tangy, spicy, and flavorful. It is a perfect dish for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3 tbsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 dried red chilies
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash and cook the rice. Spread it on a plate to cool.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, peanuts, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until the peanuts turn golden brown.
- Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix well with the tamarind mixture.
- Once the rice is well coated, remove from heat and serve.
