Flavorsome Chicken Vindaloo

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 3-4 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and dry red chilies. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onions are golden brown.
  3. Add turmeric, coriander, cumin, and cinnamon powder. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken pieces and cook until they are browned.
  5. Pour in the vinegar and season with salt. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Once the chicken is tender and the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and serve hot.
