Flaxseed Fiesta (Льняной хлеб)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup ground flaxseeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, ground flaxseeds, salt, and sugar.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and vegetable oil into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Remove from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
