Fluffy Ragi Idli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour
  • 1/2 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Rinse the urad dal and fenugreek seeds, then soak them in water for 4-6 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked dal and fenugreek seeds into a smooth batter.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the ragi flour with water to form a thick batter.
  4. Combine the urad dal batter with the ragi batter, add salt, and mix well.
  5. Allow the batter to ferment for 8-10 hours.
  6. After fermentation, pour the batter into idli molds and steam for 10 minutes.
  7. Once done, remove the idlis from the molds and serve hot with chutney or sambar.
