Forest Mushroom Pie (Miško grybų pyragas)

Ingredients

  • 500g mixed forest mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 200ml sour cream
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan, sauté the mushrooms and onion in butter until the mushrooms are golden and the onion is soft. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and sour cream. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, stirring until smooth.
  4. Grease a pie dish and spread half of the batter on the bottom. Add the cooled mushroom mixture on top, then cover with the remaining batter.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  6. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
