Şorba is a traditional Azerbaijani cookie that is fragrant with almond and cardamom. These cookies are perfect for serving with tea or coffee, and they make a delightful treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Whole almonds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, powdered sugar, cardamom, and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil and almond extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Press a whole almond into the center of each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden around the edges.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
