Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 dried tangerine peel
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sugar. Marinate the chicken thighs in this mixture for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken thighs to the pot and brown on both sides.
- Pour in the chicken broth and add star anise, cinnamon stick, dried tangerine peel, and Sichuan peppercorns. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Once the chicken is tender, remove it from the pot and place it on a serving dish.
- Turn up the heat to reduce the sauce until it thickens. Pour the sauce over the chicken and serve hot.
