Fragrant Hakka Stuffed Tofu (香酥客家豆腐)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of firm tofu
  • 200g ground pork
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu by cutting a slit in the center of each piece to create a pocket for the stuffing.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped scallions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, white pepper, garlic, and cornstarch.
  3. Stuff the tofu pockets with the pork mixture, pressing gently to fill the pockets completely.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the stuffed tofu in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
