Fragrant Mint Chutney (ಪುದೀನಾ ಚಟ್ನಿ)
This fragrant mint chutney is a popular condiment in Udupi cuisine, known for its refreshing and aromatic flavors. It pairs perfectly with dosa, idli, vada, and other South Indian snacks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 inch ginger, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Wash the mint and coriander leaves thoroughly.
- In a blender, combine the mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, onion, ginger, grated coconut, lemon juice, and salt.
- Add a little water and blend to a smooth paste.
- Adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed.
- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl and serve with your favorite South Indian snacks.
