Frangipane Tart
This frangipane tart is a delightful dessert that combines a buttery crust with a rich almond filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract. Pulse until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the almond flour, sugar, and salt. Add the softened butter and beat until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
- Spread the almond filling evenly over the chilled crust. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until the filling is golden and set.
- Let the tart cool before serving.
