Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract. Pulse until the dough comes together.
  3. Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. In a bowl, mix together the almond flour, sugar, and salt. Add the softened butter and beat until smooth.
  6. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
  7. Spread the almond filling evenly over the chilled crust. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the filling is golden and set.
  9. Let the tart cool before serving.
