Fried Bara (तल्ला बारा)
तल्ला बारा (Fried Bara) is a popular Newari Cuisine dish that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is a perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup black lentils, soaked
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Drain the soaked lentils and grind them into a smooth batter.
- Transfer the batter to a bowl and add chopped onion, green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Spoon the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried bara from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
